Scripture for every room of our home

We have finally started the process of rebuilding our new home (old home, taking walls down, all new electric and plumbing, etc) and we thought about writing scripture on the studs before we put new sheetrock up. We got this idea from some builder friends who are in our church group and loved the idea. We thought having scripture on the “bones” of the house would be an extra special way to bless the house and maybe provide some spiritual protection, so to speak.

There were some great lists online and we took all those and compiled our own list. We decided to make this part of our Sunday worship and had a memorable experience doing this as a family. I’m definitely taking these scriptures and putting some signs up in the rooms when the house is complete!

Here’s our list for scripture in every room:

Entry

  • You will be blessed when you go in and blessed when you go out. – Deuteronomy 28:6
  • For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. – 2 Chronicles 7:16 

Study/Office

  • Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as if working for the Lord, not for human masters. Colossians 3:23
  • Be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. – 1 Corinthians 15:58
  • Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Matthew 7:24

1/2 Bathroom

  • Give us clean hands and pure hearts. Psalm 24:4

Living Room

  • And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. – Ephesians 4:32
  • We love because He first loved us. – John 4:19
  • Through wisdom, a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3-4

Sun Room

  • Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. – Matthew 5:16

Kitchen

Pantry

Dining Room

Kids’s Bedroom

Gun Safe Area

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:13-18
